β€œI'm a big believer in like, the importance of health communication to all things. And I think, you know, I can do as much as I can do in a one-on-one visit with somebody, we can do a lot more when writing a piece. On top of that, most people don't have access to me, or people like me. If every single patient comes in and asks the same question, I can imagine the rest of the country has that question too. I think that part of what I can do with that platform is answer questions that I answered in my visit. But I could answer in a more story-like narrative way for the general public, to answer those questions too. That has always been important to me” Dr Jessi Gold, MD

Her stories in popular press normalize questions that most people have about therapy, medication, and mental health. Her work about normalizing mental health conversations won the Sharp Index Award for media impact in 2022. By sharing the common questions she has answered to patients, she can impact people who might not be able to afford therapy, or help underserved areas.
