Lived Experience and Suicide Prevention Committee

Responsible to involve and learn with those who have lost someone to physician and healthcare worker suicide or survived suicide loss or attempts. Those who have lost someone to suicide who were not healthcare workers or physicians. The Lived Experience and Suicide Prevention Committee is dedicated to addressing mental health challenges, promoting suicide prevention, and amplifying the voices and experiences of individuals with lived experience. The committee's responsibilities revolve around supporting suicide prevention efforts and ensuring that the organization's initiatives are inclusive and responsive to the needs of those affected.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Advocacy and Awareness: Advocate for mental health and suicide prevention, raising awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting access to resources and support services.

  2. Program Development: Provide insights and input into the development of inclusive and responsive suicide prevention programs that address the needs of diverse populations.

  3. Education and Training: Deliver educational programs and training initiatives on suicide prevention, mental health, and the importance of lived experience.

  4. Collaborative Partnerships: Establish partnerships with organizations and stakeholders to collaborate on suicide prevention initiatives and amplify collective impact.

  5. Community Development and Lived Experience Sharing: Foster community development by creating safe spaces for individuals with lived experience to share their stories, provide support, and promote healing and resilience.
